Redefining Innomotics' New Digital Presence that Reflects their Excellence in Motion

With a trusted legacy of more than 150 years of engineering expertise, Innomotics is and has always been the backbone of reliable motion for industries and infrastructure worldwide. Now Innomotics wanted to take it to the next level. They embarked on a mission to establish an independent digital presence that would truly reflect their status as an industry leader.

The Purpose: A New Digital Identity

Virtual Identity was entrusted with bringing the Innomotics lime and power grey alive online. Each division had its own established pages under the global website, but this wasn’t just a CMS migration with new colours. The aim was to rethink, not to repaint. So VI worked closely with the Innomotics’ web team, branding team, and development team to rework the entire information architecture and navigation concept to optimise usability and bring each individual component into the new brand look and feel.

We created a comprehensive and carefully crafted Figma style guide to provide guidelines and a framework for their new digital presence. We also undertook the development of a new information architecture, defining different page types and streamlining the website’s structure.

In order to establish an effective positioning for the client, we carried out a detailed analysis of the brand’s competitors. We also performed Accessibility Checks based on the accessibility standards defined in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and the European Accessibility Act (EAA) to ensure a barrier-free user experience.

Throughout the project, there were a number of challenges to overcome, including a short timeframe of only three months from the kick-off to the planned launch in October 2023. In addition, several processes had to be established as Innomotics was still in its transitional phase. Finally, the number of different stakeholders – ranging from the client to the branding agency to external consultants – was another challenge that we managed to overcome.

The strong team atmosphere with shared ownership of the project outcome, effective and transparent communication between all parties involved, regular sparring sessions with the client representative and the client-centric approach typical of VI were identified as key factors in the success of the project and the client’s exceptional satisfaction.

Innomotics’ journey from concept to a fully realised digital presence is a showcase to the power of teamwork, communication, and unwavering commitment to delivering excellence. This project has not only left us with a gratified client, but also provided valuable personal insights and growth for everyone involved.
